South London Sideboard

Made with elements salvaged exclusively in South London.

Enamel advertising sign and painted shop sign section with metal handles, two domestic furniture drawers, reclaimed plywood hoarding framework, steel base.
My brother found both of the signs used on this sideboard, the yellow and black sign was covered in a thick roofing-tar, it was once used to patch up a leaking roof. The black and white painted wooden door is the end section of what would have once been a long shop sign board but this was all that was discovered in a skip. Both drawers were found abandoned at car boot sales. The plywood framework is entirely salvaged, it was once the hoarding around a building site in South London, it still retains the white-wash finish that has been sanded, waxed and polished.
